Located in the eastern part of Jordan and is within short drive in Amman is one of the best known and very well preserved desert Castle, the Qasr Kharana, also referred to as Kharaneh or Qasr al Harrana. This castle is one of the earliest examples of an Islamic architecture. It was built in early 8^th century. The purpose of this castle remains unclear as of this day. This castle is one of the most visited among of the desert castles in Jordan.
